We work with all kinds of customers. Different industries, different goals but they all have one thing in common.
They want to be better social sellers… they just don’t know where to start.
They see others in their space getting great engagement, reach, and results on LinkedIn but when they try, nothing happens. They build a few lists in Sales Navigator, send a couple of messages, re-share a company post…
Then tumbleweed.
And they give up.
It’s the same with most things in life. The first time you try something new, you don’t get any traction or feedback, so you assume it doesn’t work. You tell yourself it’s not for you others are just better.
But that’s not true. The people you think are “better” are just more consistent. They’ve had hundreds of failed posts. They started where you are. They just kept showing up.
Look at me. I built Trueleads in lockdown and we’ve generated millions in revenue 90% of it from LinkedIn outreach and my personal brand. I’ve had numerous posts that flopped. I’ve had months where I disappeared completely. I’m not an influencer by any stretch, but I’ve built a 7-figure business here with just over 10,000 followers.
You can do the same.
If you’re a sales rep who wants to smash your quota… If you’re a business owner who wants to generate your own leads…
You don’t need 100,000 followers. You don’t need to be a professional content creator. You don’t need to be an expert copywriter.
You just need to:
- Show up
- Add value
- Keep trying
- Keep learning
- Keep adapting
- Be human
The way I see it, LinkedIn is like a networking event that never ends. You show up, you make introductions, you share ideas, you engage.
Most of what you say won’t resonate with everyone and that’s fine. But for the people it does resonate with, you’ll be seen as an authority and a leader in your space. Do that consistently enough, and you’ll start generating warm leads, the kind that already know you, trust you, and understand what you do.
And here’s the thing: with the rise of AI, fake videos, and copy-paste messaging… simply showing up as yourself is now your USP. No one else can be you. So show the world who you are and what you stand for.
If you do that, you’ll stand out, build trust, and outperform your peers.
So, if you want to start do these three things first:
- Get clear on who you actually help. Write it down. Who do you help? What problems do you solve? What pain points do they have? Who have you helped before, and why did they buy?
- Understand what makes you unique. Not your company – YOU. Why should someone work with you? What value do you add? What experience or perspective do you bring? What are you passionate about?
- Decide how you can help your audience. Educate. Advise. Share best practices. You’re already an expert, show people how you can make their world better.
Step away from the corporate jargon and canned marketing speak. Get human. Get real. That’s where trust lives.
Once you’ve nailed that, you’re ready to be a social seller. All you need next is a plan, a simple strategy, and a consistent rhythm to post, engage, and reach out to your ideal clients with your message.
I’ll save that part for another post.
For now
